2-6 MONTHS BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT:

- Any oral acne medications like Accutane, should be discontinued.

- If your skin has visual signs of sun damage, you should make an appointment with your dermatologist or primary care physician to confirm that these treatments are safe for you. Request an all-over skin check.

2-4 WEEKS BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT:

- NO sun exposure!

- If it is determined your skin type would benefit from Luma Silk’s brightening cream, begin

1 WEEK BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT:

- Hydration is very important. Drink eight 8 oz glasses of water daily.

- Moisturize the area to be treated at least twice each day. This will help to maximize tissue recovery.

- Exfoliate the area to be treated 2-3 times.

- Discontinue all products containing Retinol, Glycolic Acid, Alpha/Beta Hydroxy Acids, and Exfoliants.

- Do not apply self-tanner

5 DAYS BEFORE A TREATMENT: (Very important if this applies to you)

- If you have a history of cold sores, you must begin an anti-viral medication and continue as directed.

2 DAYS BEFORE A TREATMENT:

- You may take an anti-histamine (Benedryl, Claritin) for 2 days before, the day of, and the day after a treatment to help minimize swelling

DAY BEFORE & DAY OF YOUR TREATMENT:

Men should shave the night before the day of the procedure. There should be no visible stubble. Arrive with a clean face….no creams.

You are a good candidate for a CoolPeel® laser treatment and/or RF Microneedling if you are looking to reduce the appearance of fine lines and sun damage, minimize pores and improves skin texture. Your skin will look healthier and younger. If your skin is a bit darker, you may be asked to pretreat your face with Luma Silk brightening cream.

In certain instances, numbing may not be required, but we use a topical numbing cream to ensure that you can be as comfortable as possible.

Depending on some options you choose, you can experience downtime that lasts from 1 day to 6 days. That is the beauty of these services. You have the ability to customize your treatments, determined by your specific needs, and how much downtime you are willing to tolerate.
